Of course I say that every January… because I always get excited about the new possibilities each new year, and each new day bring!

We’ve started off with a bang, and I have three exciting pieces of news to share with you:

1. Because of YOUR generosity, we exceeded our $100,000 year-end fundraising goal, achieving a grand total of $113,940!
2. Over the past few years, Life Remodeled and our partners have completed massive $5 million projects, focusing our efforts on one neighborhood each year. As we look to take on our biggest project to date, we are excited to announce a two-year commitment to the community surrounding Detroit Central High School. Phase 1 will take place this summer, and Phase 2 will be completed in 2018.
3. Read in the Detroit Free Press about our big news that Life Remodeled signed the lease for the Durfee Middle School building (built in 1927, containing 176,000 square-feet, and pictured above) for just $1 a year. Also learn more about Life Remodeled’s plans to transform Durfee Elementary-Middle School into a small business incubator, which will work closely with Detroit Central High School to provide unique and valuable learning opportunities for students.
