Dear Team Life Remodeled,

All of us are thoroughly disturbed by the recent actions of America’s racist underbelly.  Hate is radically-determined to spread it’s venomous ideology.

There are many topics on which we may not all agree, and we may not all hold the same political beliefs. However, there are times when we need to put those disagreements on hold and come together.  We can and should all be on thesame page when it comes to promoting love and condemning hate.

Just three weeks ago, we united across racial, religious and socio-economic divides in order to help revitalize the very neighborhood where Detroit’s 1967 Uprising began 50 years ago in response to racial injustice and inequality. For many who have partnered with Life Remodeled in recent years, sometimes the amount of progress that has been made inthose 50 years may not always seem as great as we would like it to be – especially when we are seeing what we’ve been seeing on the news the last 10 days.

What we saw here in Detroit this summer is proof that we can come together and that we will see amazing results when we do. It is so important for us to continue working together. It is also important to have the courage to speak up in theface of prejudice and hate, even if it may, at times, feel uncomfortable.
