Welcome to the Team, Terri O’Neal!
Yet another new staff member has joined the Life Remodeled team! We would like to extend a very warm welcome to Terri N. O’Neal, our new Community Engagement Coordinator. Terri works with the leadership team and key community volunteers to engage the community in Life Remodeled projects and programs at the DIS as well as solicit feedback from the community to help communicate resources provided by the DIS.
A Detroit native, Terri has a seven year history working in community engagement for education and art nonprofits. She has interned with the National Black Arts Festival (Atlanta), served as a Toni Cade Bambara Scholar-Activist and Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow doing engaged research (Atlanta), is an Urban Bush Women Summer Leadership Institute alumna (New Orleans), and a two year AmeriCorps service member alumna (Boston). In addition to her nonprofit experience, Terri is a trained community-based creative, teacher, and writer.
Terri knows that the power of a community lies in the imagination of its people. She looks forward to building mutually beneficial and sustainable relationships between Detroit community residents and partners. Terri holds a BA in Sociology and Anthropology, with a minor in Comparative Women’s Studies from Spelman College.
Welcome to the team, Terri!
