Why you do it…

Dear Team Life Remodeled,

I know why most people are motivated to support our work – because we help provide meaningful opportunities for under-resourced schoolchildren to thrive. Speaking of opportunity, we recently transported a busload of Durfee students to TechShop Detroit, who donated an exciting, hands-on educational experience.

Check out the kids’ reaction in this two-minute video.

These are the kinds of experiences we want to bring to the Community Innovation Center, and we believe that you and the generosity of our local business community are going to help make that happen.

I’ve been ‘pounding the pavement’ about our upcoming business fundraising breakfast on June 28.  We’re calling it “The Detroit 100” because we are rallying 100 businesses who will donate at least $1,000 to sponsor the Community Innovation Center we are creating.

Though all of our projects in recent years have required cash to complete, the needs for the transformation of Durfee Elementary-Middle School are far greater because of the scope of the project exceeds anything we’ve done to date.

As of today, we have over 70 businesses committed. There is still time to register for the “Detroit 100” if you CLICK HERE

Our keynote speaker for the breakfast will be Ron Fournier, publisher and editor of Crain’s Detroit Business.

Passionate about the Future of Detroit,
