Life Remodeled in Detroit staged its Prom Remodeled, presented by Amazon, on April 26 at the Durfee Innovation Society in Detroit. Our communities have ties that can bring us together, rather than divide us, even those that remind us of the worst of human history. Imagine the brighter future we can build together.
After putting forth three years of concentrated effort in the community, the Detroit-based nonprofit Life Remodeled received some ‘sad’ news that their two final offers to transform the Cooley High School into an ‘Opportunity Hub’ were rejected. HOWEVER, their ‘SADNESS’ was turned into ‘JOY’ when they were contacted by an organization that actually ‘WANTED’ them to repurpose their school building into something like what they just did in the Central High School neighborhood with the Durfee Innovation Society.
Lippert Components, Inc. (Lippert™), a leading supplier of highly engineered components for top original equipment manufacturers (“OEMs”) in the recreation and transportation product markets and their related aftermarkets, is excited to announce a new way for team members to serve their communities. In collaboration with the Detroit-based nonprofit Life Remodeled, this experience provided Lippert with an opportunity to extend their community outreach efforts beyond Elkhart County, leaving a lasting legacy of positive change.
Seven years ago, volunteers from DTE Energy’s Lynch Road Service Center began volunteering with Life Remodeled, a non-profit organization in Detroit that works to rebuild local communities.
When nonprofits–or any organization for that matter–are poorly run, it inhibits their ability to deliver value for their customers and communities. Because nonprofits often deliver vital services to our most vulnerable citizens, we need systems in place that make them more efficient, more focused, and more productive. On today’s episode, we talk with the leader of Life Remodeled, a community-based organization in Detroit, MI that is transforming communities and providing opportunities for many people experiencing life-controlling challenges.
